The following types of documents are published by SLAC's Technical Publications Department:
SLAC Publications (numbered SLAC-PUB-nnnn)
SLAC Publications ("SLAC Pubs") are research papers produced by SLAC authors or users doing research at SLAC, which are submitted to conferences or journals, presented as lectures, or included as part of a workshop. Patent review is required prior to publication for all SLAC Pubs. SLAC Pub numbers are assigned by the SLAC Technical Publications Department, through the Check-in Desk. SLAC Reports (numbered SLAC-R-nnn)
SLAC Reports are theses, manuals, and proceedings of conferences and workshops. (Patent review required.) SLAC Report numbers are assigned by the SLAC Technical Publications Department, through the Check-in Desk. (See also All About SLAC Reports.)
SLAC Journals (numbered SLAC-J-name-nn)
SLAC Journals are scientific and technical publications published at SLAC in numbered volumes on a periodic basis. They include scientific bulletins, refereed journals, and other serials. For information about publishing SLAC Journals, please contact Terry Anderson.
SLAC Workshop Papers (numbered SLAC-WP-nnn)
The SLAC-WP series is for informal collections of meeting notes, working papers, transparencies, and handouts from presentations associated with workshops, symposia, or other meetings of comparable scope. Documents in this series are distributed to closed lists (e.g., members of the workshop) or more widely, as appropriate for the content of the document.
SLAC Technical Notes (numbered SLAC-TN-yy-nn)
SLAC Technical Notes are informal, in-house documents not submitted to a journal or conference. (Patent review required.) Numbers for SLAC Technical Notes are assigned at the Check-in Desk.
Accelerator Physics Notes (numbered SLAC-AP-nnn)
Accelerator Physics Notes ("AP Notes") are papers on accelerator physics, distributed to an accelerator physics list created by Perry Wilson. (Patent review required.) Numbers for AP Notes are assigned by Margie Bangali (x2936, marge@slac.stanford.edu.)
SLAC-internal documents (numbered variously)
For example, the SLAC ES&H Manual, Guidelines for Operations, the SLAC Administrative Services Handbook. (No patent review required.) For information about document number assignment for SLAC-internal documents, please contact Terry Anderson.
SLAC Periodicals
For example, Training Opportunities at SLAC, The Interaction Point, the SLAC Bulletin Board.
